Magento and Adobe Commerce development.

Magento done properly — or rescued when it has become unmanageable.

Magento is powerful and unforgiving. It handles complex catalogues, multi-store setups and B2B pricing rules that would be painful elsewhere — and it punishes stores that were built by stacking third-party modules without an architect. Most Magento work I am asked about is a store that has become slow, fragile, or stuck on a version that no longer receives security patches.

What’s included

  • Custom module development following Magento standards
  • Integration with ERP, PIM, warehouse and accounting systems
  • Performance work: caching, indexing, Varnish, database tuning
  • Version upgrades and security patching
  • Multi-store and multi-currency configuration
  • Complex catalogue, attribute and pricing rule setup
  • Diagnosing and stabilising stores that have become unreliable

Why Magento stores get slow

Usually a combination: indexers not running or running on the wrong schedule, full-page cache disabled or constantly invalidated, third-party modules that add queries to every page load, and a database that has never been maintained. Each is diagnosable and fixable; the mistake is throwing hardware at it before finding out which applies.

Module quality matters more here

A badly written Magento module can degrade the entire store, because of how deeply modules can hook into the framework. When I audit a slow store, disabling third-party modules one at a time and measuring is often the fastest route to the culprit.

Upgrades are a project, not a task

Magento upgrades break things — particularly custom and third-party modules. Done properly that means a staging environment, an inventory of every customisation, testing the critical paths, and a rollback plan. Running an unsupported version to avoid this is the more expensive choice.

Common questions

Is Magento right for us?

It suits large or complex catalogues, B2B pricing, and multi-store operations. For a straightforward store of a few hundred products it is usually more platform than you need, and I will say so.

Can you take over from another agency?

Yes. I would start with an audit of the codebase and infrastructure so you know what state it is actually in.

Can you migrate us off Magento?

Yes, if the complexity no longer justifies it. Data migration is the substantial part — products, customers and order history.

Do you work with Adobe Commerce Cloud?

Yes, though the hosting model and deployment pipeline differ from self-hosted Magento Open Source.
