This is common and entirely fixable. I work through undocumented systems methodically: understand what it does, close the security holes, get it stable and observable, then modernise piece by piece — without a full rewrite you probably cannot justify.
Common questions
Which PHP versions do you work with?
Current versions for new work, and older ones where that is what exists. I have worked on PHP 5.x codebases and can plan an upgrade path.
Do you use a framework?
Laravel where a framework earns its place. For smaller services or when working inside an existing codebase, plain PHP is often the right call.
Can you fix a site another developer built?
Yes — that is a large part of my work. I start with an audit so you know what you are dealing with before committing to anything.
